ORDINANCE NO.
iph AN ORDINANCE providing for the annexation by the City of Yakima of
Pr certain property contiguous to the City of Yakima, and
zoning the same as R-1, Single Family Residential Zone.
WHEREAS, proceedings have been had in accordance with Chapter128
of the Laws of 1945, as amended, and Chapter 282 of the Laws of 1961
for the annexation of the property hereinafter described, and
WHEREAS, at a regularly scheduled meeting of the Planning Com-
miesion of the City of Yakima, a hearing was had pursuant to legal
notice, upon the zoning and land use classification of said property
hereinafter described and annexed, and
WHEREAS, said Planning Commission duly recommended that said
property be annexed to the City of Yakima and that all of said prop-
erty be zoned at the time of such annexation as R-1, Single Family
11 Residential Zone, and
WHEREAS, said proposed area to be annexed to the City of Yakima
is more than 10 acres in area, and
WHEREAS, the City Council has heretofore determined that it
would approve the proposed annexation and that it would not require
the property owners of such area to assume the existing indebtedness
of the City of Yakima, and
WHEREAS, in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 282, Laws
of 1961, the Mayor of the City of Yakima, the Chairman of the Board
of Yakima County Commissioners, the Chairman of the School Board of
Yakima School District No. 7, the Representative of the State Depart-
ment of Commerce and Economic Development, and a Resident and Property
Owner of the area proposed to be annexed, the same constituting a

majority of the Review Board (the Chairman of the 'School Board of
Fruitvale School District No. 115 being unable to attend), 'met and
111 considered all of the factOrs sat forth in said Chanter 282, Laws of
1961, and at the conclusion of said meeting made and entered their
findings and determinations with respect to such annexation and
recommended to the City Council of the City of Yakima that said pro-
posed area be annexed to the City of Yakima, and •
WHEREAS, pursliatt to due and legal notice as provided by law and
City Charter, a public hearing was had upon said petition for annexa-
tion before the City Council of the City of Yakima on the 9th day of
April, 1962, and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that such property should be
annexed to the City of Yakima and further finds that the recommenda-
tion of the Planning Commission for the zoning and land use clasSifi-
cation of said property should be approved for the reasons that such
zoning and classification is in accord with good planning and with
theComprehensive Plan of the City of Yakima; that the majority of
the property owners in the vicinity do not oppose the classification
or the annexation; that the needs of the City and community do re-
quire the hereinafter set forth zoning classifications; and that the
highest and best use for said property is as hereinafter determined,
now, therefore, .
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA:
Section 1. That the following described property contiguous to
the City of Yakima, Washington, to-wit:
Beginning at the Southwest corner of Section 15, Town-
ship 13 North, Range 18, E.W.M.; thence Easterly along
the South line of said section a distance of 462 feet;.
thence Northerly along. the East line of Larson's Lots

a distance of 707 feet; thence Easterly to a point 126
feet East of the East line of 'Larson's Lots; thence
Northerly a distance of 365 feet, more or less; thence
11/ Easterly to a point on the Westerly right-of-way of the
Yakima Valley Canal; thence Northeasterly along the
Westerly right-of-way of Canal to a point on the North
line of theSouthwest Quarter of Section 15, Township 13
North, Range 18, Eig.M.; thence Westerly along said. North
line a distance of 1,247.64 feet to a point on the center-
line of County Road; thence South 39°45 Wst a distance
of . 85.93 feet thence South 33°14' West a distance of
86.50 feet; thence along a 18°00' horizontal curve to the
right, a distance of 133.1 feet; thence South 67°11' West
a distance of 122.4 feet; thence along an 8°00' horizontal
curve to the left a distance of 274.8 feet;'thence South
45°12 West a distance of 40.8 feet; thence along a 26°00'
horizontal curve to the left a distance of 173.8 feet to
the West line of Section 15, Township 13 Range 18,
E,W,M.; thence Southerly along said West line a distance
of 2,0619 feet to the point of beginning;
is hereby annexed to the City of Yakima, Washington.
Section 2. That the owners of the hereinbefore described real
property annexed to the City of Yakima shall not be required to
assume existing indebtednesses of the City of Yakima.
111 Section 3. That in accordance with the recommendations of the
Planning Commission of the City of Yakima, said property is hereby
zoned as R-1 Single'Family Residential Zone,
Section 4. That the next regularly amended Use District Map
prepared by and for the City of Yakima shall show said.property as
hereinbefore Toned and classified.
Section 5. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to
file a .certified copy of this ordinance with the Ccunty Auditor of
Yakima County and the Board of County Commissioners of Yakima County,
Section 6, This ordinance shall be in full force and effect 30
days after its final passage, approval and publication, as provided
by law and.by the City Charter.
