HomeMy WebLinkAbout1962-331 ,0 .-- ORDINANCE NO. .---i II AN ORDINANCE declaring residence buildings at 1224 Fair Avenue and \ 12243 Fair Avenue, within the City of Yakima, to be a \ \ -nuisance; requiring the.abatement and removal of the same; providing for serving of Ordinance; and directing . . the City Attorney of the City of Yakima to commence an action for abatement of said nuisance, and declaring an emergency. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA: Section 1. That the residence buildings and outbuildings located at 1224 Fair Avenue and 1224 Fair Avenue, within the City limits of the City of Yakima, more particularly described as follows, to-wit: The South 50 feet of the East 140 feet of the South . Half of Block 5, Central Park Addition to North Yakima, now Yakima, Washington, according to the plat thereof recorded in Volume "A' of Plats, page 46, records of Yakima County, Washington; which property is owned by Max Di Torrez and Mary Torrez, husband and wife, said residence buildings and outbuildings having been vacant and 1 11 unoccupied for a period of more than two years last past and having become in such conOition as to constitute a fire hazard dangerous to persons and., property and a menace to.the public health and safety, and in such a state and condition as to constitute a nuisance, are hereby declared to be anuisance. Section 2, That the owner of said property, or the person or persons having charge thereof, are hereby required to abate and remove said nuisance within 30 days of the date of passage of this ordinance, Section 3. That after passage of this ordinance, the Fire Marshal of the City of Yakima shall serve or cause to be served upon the owner of said property, or the person in charge of said property, a certified copy of this ordinance. Section 4. That dij: said nuisance is not abated and removed within said 30 day period the City Attorney of the City of Yakima is hereby -1- . directed to commence action in the Superior Court of the State of Washington in and for the County of Yakima for the purpose of abating 4 10 said nuisance. Section 5. This ordinance is one to provide for the immediate preservation of the public peace, property, health, safety and welfare of the people of the City of Yakima, and an emergency is hereby de- clared to exist, and this ordinance shall be in full force and effect immediately upon its passage, approval and publication as provided by law and by the City Charter.
