ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE providing for the annexation by the City of Yakima, Wash-
ington, of certain property contiguous to the City of
Yakima, and zoning the same as R-3, Multiple Family
Residential Zone.
411 WHEREAS, proceedings have been had in accordance with Chapter •
128 of the Laws of 1945 for the annexation of the property herein-
AJiter described, and
WHEREAS, at a regularly scheduled meeting of the Planning Com-
mission of the City of Yakima, a hearing was had, pursuant to legal

notice, upon the zoning and land use classification of said property
hereinafter described and annexed, and
WHEREAS, said Planning Commission duly recommended that said
property be annexed to the City of Yakima and that all of said prop-
erty be zoned at the time of such annexation as R-3, Multiple Family
Residential Zone, and
WHEREAS, said proposed area to be annexed to the City of Yakima
is less than ten acres in area and less than $200,000.00 in assessed
0 valuation, and
WHEREAS, in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 282, Laws
of 1961, the Mayor of the City of Yakima, the Chairman of the Board
. of Yakima County Commissioners, and the Yakima County-Superintendent
of Schools have all been apprised of the petition and have agreed
that a review proceeding as provided in said Chapter 282 is not
necessary for the protection of the interests of the various parties,
and that such review procedures should be dispensed with, and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that such property should be
annexed to the City of Yakima, and further finds that such recommen-
dation of the Planning Commission for zoning of said property should
be approved for the reasons that such zoning is in accord with good
planning and with the Comprehensive Plan of the City of Yakima, that
0 the majority of the property owners in the vicinity do not oppose the
classification, that the needs of the City and community do require
such zoning classification, and that the highest and best use for
said property is Multiple Family Residential Zone, now, therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA:

Section 1. That.the following described property contiguous to
the City of Yakima, Washington, to-wit:

Beginning at the centerline of Crescent Drive and the North
line of the South Half of the Northeast Quarter of the
northwest Quarter of Section 22, Township 13 North, Range 18,
E.W.M.; thence North along said centerline of Crescent Drive
to a point 369.7 feet South of the Northwest corner of the
northeast Quarter of Section 22, Township 13 North, Range 18,
E.W.M.; thence East 223.81 feet; thence South to the South
line of the Yakima Valley Canal Company's right-of-way;
111 thence :Test. along said Canal Company's right-of-way and the
North line of the Replat of Kern Addition, Lots 10 through
19, which is the City Limits of the City of Yakima, to the
centerline of Crescent Drive; thence North along the center-
line of Crescent Drive to the point of beginning;
be, and the same is, hereby annexed to the City ofYakima, Washington.
Section 2. The recommendation of the Planning Commission of the
City of Yakima that the above-descri real property should be zoned
R-3, Multiple Family Res:iacintfsa Zone, be, and the same is, hereby
approved, and said property is hereby zoned as R-3, Multiple Family
Residential Zone.
Section 3. The next regularly amended Use District Map prepared
by and for the City of Yakima shall show said property as R-3,
Multiple Family Residential Zone.
Section 4. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to
• file with the Yakima County Auditor a certified copy of this ordi-
nance.
Section 5. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect 30
days after its final passage, approval and publication, as provided
by law and by the City Charter.
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL, signed and approved this 21st day of
May, 1962.
