ORDINANCE NO.

AN ORDINANCE relating to street selling in the City of Yakima; exempting
certain persons from the prohibitim against peddling and
• street selling; setting out limits wherein street selling
is prohibited; regulating street selling; and amending
Section 5.56.050 and adding new Sections 5.56a051.
5.56.053 and 5.56.055, all of the City of Yakima 1
pal Code,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA:
Section 1. That Section 5.56,050 of the City of Yakima Municipal
Code is hereby amended to read as follows: - •
" 5.56.050 CERTAIN PERSONS EXEMPT. The provisions of this
chapter shall not prohibit the peddling or street selling of
newspapers or current issues of magazines, farm products
• raised by the vendor thereof, fish caught or meat raised by
the vendor thereof, or dairy product's. Provided, that the
sale of such newspapers, magazines, farm products, fish,
meat ,. or dairy productsshall be conducted, in accordance
with the provisions of Sections 5.56.051, 5.56.053 and
5.56.055 hereof."

Section 20 That Chapter 5.56 of the City of Yakima Municipal .Code
is hereby amended by adding thereto, following Section 5.56.050, a new
section numbered 5.56.051 to read as follows:
" • 5.56.051 3JIMITS WHEREIN •STREETSELLING PROHIBITED. It
shall he unlawful for any Vendor engaged in street selling
to sell :within the central business district as defined by
Section 9.08.100 of this Code, or on any of the following
streets within the City of Yakima: Division Street, Tieton
Drive, Summitview Avenue, Yakima Avenue, "C" Street, Lincoln
Avenue, Nob Hill Boulevard, Walnut Street east of llth Avenue,

Zeno* Avenue, Mead Avenue, Crescent Drive (40th Avenue),
Sunset Drive, Englewood Avenue, 32nd Avenue, 24th Avenue,
16th Avenue, 5th Avenue 3rd Avenue, First Street, 3rd Street,
Naches Avenue, and 6th Street; or within 200 feet of any
public park, school or playground. Provided, that this
section .shall not apply to those persons or firms engaged

in the primary business of selling and delivering Milk or
cream.on a regularly established route and who sell and
deliver other dairy and related products as an incident to
the primary '
Section 3. That Chapter 5,56 of the City of Yakima Municipal - Code
410 is hereby amended by adding thereto, following Section 55605i a new
section numbered 5.56.053 to read as follows:

5.56.053 UNLAWFUL TO BLOCKADE STREETS it shall be un-
lawful for any vendor engaged in street selling to in any
• manner obstruct, or cause to be obstructed, travel upon any
sidewalk, street, avenue, alley or other public place"
Section 4, That Chapter 5,56 of the City of Yak:it Municipal Code
is hereby amended by adding thereto, following Section 5.56*053, a new
section numbered 5,56,055 to read as follows';
5,56„055 NOISE NAKERS REGULATED It shall be unlawful
for any vendor engaged in street selling to utilize any
noise maker other than a bell capable of ringing no louder
than 60 decibels of sound measured at a distance of 50 feet.,"
Section 5. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect 30
days after its passage, approval and vublication, as provided by law
and by the City Charter.,
