ALO AN ORDINANCE providing for the annexation by 1,h r.. city of Yakima. of cer tain property contiguous to the City of Yakima, and zoniri the same as R-1, Single Family Residence Zone. WHE71EAS, proceedings have been had in accordance with Chapter • 128 of the Laws of 1945, as amended, and Chapter 282 of the Laws of 1961 for the annexation of the property hereinafter described, and WI-I at a regulrly scheduled meeting of the Planning Commis- sion of the City of Yakima, a hearing was had pursuant to legal notice, upon the, zoning and land use classification of said property hereinafter described and annexed, and WHJEAS said clanning Cbmmission duly recommended that said prop- erty be annexed to the City of Yakima and that all of said property be at the time of such annexation as R-1, Single Family Residence Zone, and WHEREAS, said proposed area to be annexed to the City of Yakima is less than ten acres in area and less than $200,000.00 in assessed valua- tion, and WHEREAS , in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 282, Laws of 1 961, the Mayor of the City of Y akim a , the Chairman of the Board of County Commissioners of Yakima County, ancl the County Superintendent of Schools of Yakima County have all been apprised of the petition and have agreed that a review proceeding as provided in said Chapter 282 is not necessary for the protection of the interests of various parties, and that such review procedures should be dispensed with, and WHEREAS , pursuant to due and legal notice as provided by law and City Charter, a public hearing was had upon said petition for annexation before the City Council of the City of Yakima on the 8th day of April, 1963, and 1110 WHEREAS, the City Council finds that such property should be annexer . to the City of Yakima. and further finds that the recommendation of the Ran- ning Cbmmission for the zoning and land. use classification of said property should be approved for the reasons that such zoning and classification are in accordance with good planning and with the Comprehensive Ran of the -1- City of Yakima, that the majority of the property owners in the vicinity are in favor of the zoning classification and the annexation, that the needs of the Qty and community do require the hereinafter set forth zoning classification, and that the highest and best use for said property is as hereinafter de- termined, now, therefore, • BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKINMA: Section 1. That the following described property contiguous to the Qty of Yakima, Washington, to-wit: Beginning at the intersection of the center line of South 16th Avenue and the center line of West Washington Avenue; thence East along the center line of West Washington Avenue to the East right -of -way line of S outh 15th Avenues thence North along the East right -of -way line of South 15th Avenue to the South line of Lot 24, Plat of Section 36, Township 13 North, Range 18, E .W .M s thence West along said South line to the center line of South 16th Avenue; thence South along the center line of South 16th Avenue to the center line of West Washington Avenue, which is the point of beginning; is hereby annexed to the Qty of Yakima, Washington. Section 2. That the owners of the hereinbefore described real prop=- erty annexed to the Qty of Yakima shall be required to assume existing • indebtednesses of the City of Yakima. Section 3 . That in accordance with the recommendations of the Plan- ning Commission of the City of Yakima, said property is hereby zoned as R -1, Single Family Residence Zone. Section 4. That the next regularly amended Use District Map prepare-- by and for the City of Yakima shall show said property as hereinbefore zoned and classified. Section 5. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to file a certified copy of this ordinance with the Q unty Auditor of Yakima County and. . the Board of County Cbmmissioners of Yakima County. Section 6. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect 30 days • after its final passage, approval and publication, as provided by law and by the City Charter.
