AN ORDINANCE defining an attempt to comMit a crime, declaring an attempt to be a misdemeanor, and providing for the punishment thereof; and creating a new chapter of the City of Yakima Municipal Code to be known as Chapter 6.02, "General Provisions." BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA: Section 1. There is hereby created and added to the City of Yakima Municipal Code, to precede Chapter 6.04, "Penal Code," a new chapter to be known as Chapter 6.02, "General Provisions," which chapter shall read as follows: "Chapter 6.02 GENERAL PROVISIONS 6.02.010 ATTEMPT DEFINED, HOW PUNISHED. An act done with intent to commit any crime defined by any ordinance of the City of Yakima, and tending but failing to accomplish it, is • an attempt to commit that crime; and every person who attempts to commit such a crime shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and shall be punished by a fine in any sum not exceeding $300.00, or by imprisonment in the City Jail for a term not exceeding 90 days, or by both such fine and imprisonment." Section 2. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect 30 days after its final passage, approval and publication as provided by law and by the City Charter.
