AN ORDINANCE providing for the annexation by the City of Yakima of
certain property contiguous to the City of Yakima and
zoning said property.
WHEREAS, proceedings have been held in accordance with Chapter 128
0 of the Laws of 1945, as amended, and Chapter 282 of the Laws of 1961
for the annexation of the property hereinafter described, and
WHEREAS, at a regularly scheduled meeting of the Planning Commis-
sion of the City of Yakima, a hearing was held pursuant to legal
notice, upon the zoning and land use classification of said property
hereinafter described and annexed, and
WHEREAS, said Planning Commission duly recommended that said
property be annexed to the City of Yakima and made recommendations as
to the zoning for said property, and
WHEREAS, said proposed area to be annexed to the City of Yakima
is more than 10 acres in area, and
WHEREAS, the City Council has heretofore determined that it would
approve the proposed annexation and that it would require the property
0 owners of such area to assume the existing indebtedness of the City of
Yakima, and
WHEREAS, in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 282, Laws
of 1961, a majority of the review board comprised of the Mayor of the
City of Yakima, the Chairman of the Board of Yakima County Commission-
ers, the Chairman of the School Board of Yakima School District No. 7,
the Representative of the State Department of Commerce and Economic
Development, and a Resident and Property Owner of the area proposed
to be annexed, met and considered all of the factors set forth in said
Chapter 282, Laws of 1961, and at the conclusion of said meeting made
and entered their unanimous findings and determinations with respect
to'such annexation and recommended to the City Council of the City of
Yakima that said proposed area be annexed to the City of Yakima, and
WHEREAS, pursuant to due and legal notice as provided by law and
by the City Charter, a public hearing was held upon said petition for
annexation before the City Council of the City of Yakim4'on the 30th
day of September, 1963, and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that such property should be
annexed to the City of Yakima and further finds that the property

should be zoned as hereinafter set forth for the reasons that such
zoning and classification is in accord with good planning and with the
comprehensive plan of the City of Yakima, that the majority of the
property owners in the vicinity do not oppose the classification or
the annexation, that the needs of the City and Community do require
the hereinafter set forth zoning classifications, and that the highest
and best use for said property is as hereinafter determined, now,
therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA:
Section 1. That the following described property contiguous to
the City of Yakima, Washington, to-wit:
That part of the Northeast Quarter of the Southwest Quarter
of Section 26, Township 13 North, Range 18, E.W.M., lying
North.of the North line of SHANNON HOMES, according to the
plat thereof recorded in Volume "H" of Plats, page 31,
records of Yakima County, Washington;
and
The Northwest Quarter of the Northwest Quarter of the South-
east Quarter of Section 26, Township 13 North, Range 18,
E.W.M, EXCEPT the North 242.8 feet;
is hereby annexed to the City of Yakima, Washington.
Section 2. That the owners of the hereinbefore described real
• property annexed to the City of Yakima shall be required to assume
existing indebtedness of the City of Yakima.
Section 3. That the hereinbefore described real property annexed
to the City of Yakima is hereby zoned as follows:
(a) The following described property is hereby zoned as B-2,
Local Business Zone:
That part of the Northeast Quarter of the Southwest Quarter
of Section 26, Township 13 North, Range 18, E.W.M., lying
North of the North line of SHANNON HOMES, according to the
plat thereof recorded in Volume "H" of Plats, page 31,
records of Yakima County, Washington.
(b) That the following described*property is hereby zoned R-2,
Two Family Residence Zone:
The Northwest Quarter of the Northwest Quarter of the South-
east Quarter of Section 26, Township 13 North, Range 18,
• E.W.M., EXCEPT the North 242.8 feet.
Section 4. That the next regularly amended Use District Map pre-
pared by and for the City of Yakima shall show said property as here-
inbefore zoned and classified.
Section 5. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to
file a certified copy of this ordinance with the County Auditor of

Yakima County and with the Board of County Commissioners of Yakima
County, Washington.
Section 6. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect 30
days after its final passage, approval and publication as provided by
law and by the City Charter.
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL, signed and approved this 30th day of
September, 1963.
