ORDINANCE NOS/
AN ORDINANCE providing for the annexatiOn by the City of Yakima of
certain property contiguous td the City of Yakima, and
zoning the same as R-I, Single Family Residence Zone..
WHEREAS, proaeedings have been held in accordance with Chapter
40 128 of the Laws of 1945, as amended, and Chapter 282 of the Laws of
1961 for the annexation of the property hereinafter described, and
WHEREAS,- at a regularly scheduled meeting of the Planning Commis-
. sion of the City of Yakima, a hearing was held pursuant to legal
notice, upon the zoning and land use classification of said property
hereinafter described and annexed, and
WHEREAS, said Planning Commission duly recommended that said
property be annexed to the City of Yakima and recommended that said
property be zoned R-1, Single Family Residence.
WHEREAS, said proposed area to he annexed to the City of Yakima
is more than 10 acres in area, and
WHEREAS, the City Council has heretofore determined that it wou-id
approve' the proposed annexation and that it' would require the property
owners of such area to assume the existino indebtedness of the City
of Yakima, an
WHEREAS, in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 282, Laws
of 1961, a majority of the review bard comprised of the Mayor of the
City of Yakima, th-3 Chairman of the Board of Yakima County Commission-
ers, the Chairman of the School Board of Yakima School District No. 7,
the Representative of the State Department of Commerce and Economic
Development, and a Resident and Property Owner of the area proposed
to be annexed, met and considered all of the factors set forth in said
Chapter 282, Laws of 1961, and at the conclusion of said meeting made
411 and entered their unanimous findings and determinations with respect
to such annexation and recommended to the City Council of the City of
Yakima that-said proposed area be annexed to the City of Yakima, and
WHEREAS, pursuant to due and Ic-gal notice as provided law and
by the City Charter, a public hearing was held upon said petition for
annexation before the City Council of the City of Yakima on the 2nd
day of March, 1964, and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds That such property ehould be
annexed to the Cii./ of Yakima and further finds that the property
should be zoned as R-(, Single Family Reaidence for the reasons that
such zoning is in accord with good planning and with the Comprehensive
Plan of the Cit./ of Yakima, that the majority of the property owners
40 in the vicinity do not oppcse the zoning ciascHfication or the annexa-
tion, that the needs of the City and commueit'y require that such
property be zoned as R-I, Single Family Residence, and that such
zoning is the highest and best use for said peoperty, now therefore,
BE 1T ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAK1MA:
Section :. That the following described real property contiguous
to the City of Yakima, Washington, to-wit:
Beginning at the Northwest corner of the Northeast quarter
of the Southwest quarter of Section 22, Township 13 North,
Range 18 F.W.M.; thence West along the center line of
Summitview Avenue to the Northwest corner of the East half
of the Northwest quarter of the Southwest quarter of said
section; thence South along the West line of the East half
of the Northwest quarter of the Scutt west quarter of said
Section 22 to the center line cf West Chestnut Street;
thence East along the center lihe of 'AJet Chestnht Street
• to the Southwest corner of the Noe heast quarter of the
Southwest emaeter of Section 22, lo‘.esnip 13 North, Range
18 E.W,M.; thence North along the West line of said sub-

Sec!:ion 4, That the next regula(iy amended Use Diet-iet Map pre
pared by and for the City of Yakima shall show said property to be
0 zoned as R•I, Single Family Residence Zone.
Section 5. The City Clerk is nere'..ev authorized and directed to
file a certified copy of this ordinance with the County Auditor of
Yakima County and with the Board of i.ouncy Commissioners of Yakima
County, Washington,
Section 6, This Ordinance shall be in fhii force and affect 30

days after its final passage, approval and publication as provided by
law and by the City Charter.
