AN ORDINANCE providing for the annexation by the City of Yakima of
certain property contiguous to the City of Yakima, and
Zoning the same as R-1, Single Family Residence Zone.
WHEREAS, proceedings have been had in accordance with Chapter
• 128 of the Laws of 1945, as amended, and Chapter 282 of the Laws of
1961 for the annexation of the property hereinafter described, and
WHEREAS, at a regularly scheduled meeting of the Planning Commis
sion of the City of Yakima, a hearing was had pursuant to legal notio
upon the zoning and land use classification of said property herein-
after described and annexed, and
WHEREAS, said Planning Commission duly recommended that said
property be annexed to the City of Yakima and that all of said proper
ty be zoned at the time of such annexation as R-1, Single Family
Residence Zone, and
WHEREAS, said proposed area to be annexed to the City of Yakima
is less than ten acres in area and less than $200,000.00 in assessed
valuation, and
WHEREAS, in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 282, Laws
of 1961, the Mayor of the City of Yakima, the Chairman of the Board
of County Commissioners of Yakima County, and the County Superinten-
dent of Schools of Yakima County have all been apprised of the peti-
tion and have agreed that a review proceeding as provided in said
Chapter 282 is not necessary for the protection of the interests of
the various parties, and that such review procedures should be dis-
pensed with, and
WHEREAS, pursuant to due and legal notice as provided by law an(
City Charter, a public hearing was had upon said petition for annexa-
tion before the City Council of the City of Yakima on the 29th day
of June, 1964, and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that such property should be
III annexed to the City of Yakima and further finds that the recommenda-
tion of the Planning Commission for the zoning and land use classifi-
cation of said property should be approved for the reasons that such

zoning and classification are in accordance with good planning and
with the Comprehensive Plan of the City of Yakima, that the majority
of the property owners in the vicinity are in favor of the zoning
classification and the annexation, that the needs of the City and
community do require the hereinafter set forth zoning classification,
and that the highest and best use for said property is as hereinafter
determined, now, therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA:
Section 1. That the following described property contiguous to
the City of Yakima, Washington, to-wit:
Beginning at the intersection of the West line extended
of Tract 43 of State Addition to North Yakima No. 2 and the
centerline of Englewood Avenue; thence North, along the
West line of Tract 43, to the North line of Tract 43; thence
Easterly, along the North line of Tract 43, to the East line
of Tract 43; thence South, along the East line of Tract 43,
to the centerline of Madera Way; thence East, along the
centerline of Madera Way, to the centerline of North 51st
Avenue; thence South, along the centerline of North 51st
Avenue, to the centerline of Englewood Avenue; thence West,
along the centerline of Englewood Avenue, to the point of
beginning;
is hereby annexed to the City of Yakima, Washington.
Section 2. That the owners of the hereinbefore described real
property annexed to the City of Yakima shall be required to assume
existing indebtednesses of the City of Yakima.
Section 3. That in accordance with the recommendations of the
Planning Commission of the City of Yakima, said property is hereby
zoned as R-1, Single Family Residence Zone.
Section 4. That the next regularly amended Use District Map
prepared by and for the City of Yakima shall show said property as
hereinbefore zoned and classified.
Section 5. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to
file a certified copy of this ordinance with the County Auditor of
Yakima County and the Board of County Commissioners of Yakima County.
• Section 6. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
30 days after its final passage, approval and publication, as

provided by law and by the City Charter.
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL, signed and approved this 29th day of
June, 1964.
