AN ORDINANCE accepting the recommendation of the Planning Commission
and rezoning certain property located at the Yakima
Municipal Airport in the City of Yakima, Washington,
from R-I, Single-Family Zone, to M-3, Airport Industrial
Zone.
WHEREAS, pursuant to due and legal notice, the City Council of
the City of Yakima held a hearing on the 19th day of October, 1964,
upon the recommendation of the Planning Commission that real property
located at the Yakima Municipal Airport, within the City of Yakima,
Washington, the legal description of which is set out hereinbelow, be
rezoned from R-I, Single-Family Zone, to'M-3, Airport Industrial Zone,
and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that such recommendation of the
Planning Commission for such rezoning should be approved for the
reasons that such rezoning is in accord with good planning and with
the Comprehensive Plan of the City of Yakima; that the majority of
property owners in the vicinity do not oppose the change in classifi-
III cation; that the needs of the City and community do require such change
and that the highest and best use of said property is for airport
industrial purposes, now, therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA:
Section I. That the recommendation of the Planning Commission
of the City of Yakima that the following described real property
located at the Yakima Municipal Airport in the City of Yakima, Washing-
ton, and more particularly described as follows, to-wit:
PARCEL A:
Beginning at the intersection of the North boundary line
of the South half of the Northeast quarter of Section 34,
Township 13 North, Range 18, E.W.M., and a line drawn
parallel with and 750 feet at right angles from the center
line extended of the Northwest-Southeast runway of the
Yakima Municipal Airpo63 thence South 70° 03' East to
the East line of said Section 34; thence North, along the
East line of said Section 34, to the North boundary line
of the South half of the Northeast quarter of said Section
34; thence West, along the North boundary line of the
South half of the Northeast quarter of said Section 34,
to the point of beginning, situated in Yakima County,
Washington.
PARCEL B:
Beginning at a point on the West line of the Southeast
quarter of the Northwest quarter of Section 35, Township
13 North, Range 18, E.W.M., 275 feet North of the South-
west corner of the Southeast quarter of the Northwest
quarter of said Section 35; thence South, along the West
line of the Southeast quarter of the Northwest quarter of
said Section 35, 101.64 feet; thence South 70° 03' East
to the center line of Washington Avenue; thence East
along the center line of Washington Avenue, to a point
400 feet West of the Southeast corner of the Northwest
quarter of said Section 35; thence North to the North
right of way line of Washington Avenue; thence West, along
the North right of way line of Washington Avenue, to the
East line of the West half of the Southeast quarter of
the Northwest quarter of said Section 35; thence North,
along the East l i n e of the West h a l f of the Southeast
quarter of the Northwest quarter of said Section 35, 5.38
feet; thence North 70° 03' West 709.1 feet more or less to
the point of beginning, situated in Yakima County, Washington;
be approved and that said property be rezoned from R -I., Single - Family
Zone, to M -3, Airport Industrial Zone, be, and the same is hereby,
approved and said real property is hereby rezoned, to M -3, Airport
Industrial Zone.
Section 2. The above change in zoning shall be included and de-
picted on the next regularly amended Use District Map prepared by and
0 for the City.
Section 3. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to
file with the Yakima County Auditor a certified copy of this Ordinance.
Section 4. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect thir-
ty days after its passage, approval and publication as provided by
law and by the City Charter.
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL, signed and approved this 19th day of
October, 1964.
