ITEM TITLE: Set date of October 6, 2026 for a closed record public hearing to
consider the Hearing Examiner's recommendation regarding the
preliminary plat of"Plat of the Orchards"

SUMMARY EXPLANATION:
Apple Tree Construction Company LLC submitted a preliminary long plat application, known as "Plat of
the Orchards", to subdivide 33.99 acres into 135 single-family residential lots on April 2, 2026. The
subject property is located at 2206 S. 96th Ave. and 9905 Occidental Rd. The application was reviewed
at an open record public hearing held on July 9 and July 16, 2026. Next steps in the process are for City
Council to set a hearing date to conduct a closed record public hearing in front of City Council.
ITEM BUDGETED: N/A
STRATEGIC PRIORITY 24-25: A Thriving Yakima
RECOMMENDATION: Set date.
