AN ORDINANCE transferring funds within the 1959 appropriation
for 45 - Street Department and declaring an emer-
gency.
WHEREAS, a surplus exists in Account 7-34, Supplies
Materials - Heavy, of the Maintenance and Operation classifica-
tion of the 1959 appropriation for 45-Street Department, and
WHEREAS, at the time of the adoption of the 1959 Budget,
it could not have been reasonably foreseen that during the year
1959 it would be necessary to purchase a stock of new equipment
use forms and time tickets and a filing cabinet for keeping a
cost record on Street Department equipment and job costs, and
WHEREAS, at the time of the adoption of the 1959 Budget,
it could not have been reasonably foreseen that the heater in
the equipment repair shop would require replacement and that an
additional unit heater would be required in the City garage, as
said buildings cannot now be adequately heated in cold weather;
and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Yakima finds that
it is in the best interests of the people of the City of Yakima
to transfer the slim of 1850.00 within said accounts and that an
emergency exists requiring such transfer, and the action contem-
plated is authorized by R.C.W. 35.33.120, now, therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA:
Section 1. That the sum of 1850.00 is hereby transferred
from a surplus item of the Maintenance and Operation accounts
classification to deficit items in Maintenance and Operation and
II I Capital or Betterment accounts classifications, all within the
1959 appropriation for 45 - Street Department.

Section 2. The Director of Finance of the City of Yakima
is hereby authorized and directed to make the aforesaid transfers.
• Section 3. This ordinance is one to provide for the imme-
diate preservation of the public peace, property, health and
safety and an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this
ordinance shall be in full force and effect immediately upon its
passage, approval and publication as provided by law and the City
Charter,
