RESOLUTION NO. R-2026-092
authorizing acceptance grant award 3-53-0089-063-2026 and grant award
3-53-0089-064-2026 from the Federal. Aviation Administration (FAA) for
construction of the Legacy Crosswind Runway 4/22, a capital improvement
project at the Yakima Air Terminal -McAllister Field,
WHEREAS, the City owns and operates the Yakima Air Terminal -McAllister Field in
accordance with applicable Federal, State, and Local regulations; and
WHEREAS, the FAA makes grants available to airports to maintain and improve airport
facilities; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with the Yakima Air Terminal -McAllister Field Airport Master
Plan, which details a variety of Federal Aviation Administration required capital improvement
projects, including the Legacy Crosswind Runway 4/22; and,
WHEREAS, the Yakima Air Terminal- McAllister Field has coordinated with the Federal
Aviation Administration through the airport' s Capital Improvement Plan to utilize approximately
Five Hundred Twenty -Nine Thousand One Hundred Four ($ 529,104.00) dollars of federal grant
funds from grant 3-53-0089-063-2026 and Two Million Six Hundred Twenty Eight Thousand Six
Hundred Sixty ($2,628,660.00) dollars of grant funds from grant 3-53-0089-064-2026 and
approximately One Hundred Sixty Six Thousand One Hundred Ninety -Eight dollars and Seventy
cents ($166,198.70) of Passenger Facility Charges (PFC's) for the airport's local match
requirement, to fund the work to be performed on the Terminal Modernization Project Phase 1A;
and
WHEREAS, the City Council deems it to be in the best interest of the City and its residents
to authorize acceptance of the FAA grant award needed to accomplish the identified capital
improvements, now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA:
The City Manager is hereby authorized to accept grant award 3-53-0089-063-2026 in the
amount of Five Hundred Twenty -Nine Thousand One Hundred Four ($ 529,104.00) dollars and
grant award 3-53-0089-064-2026 in the amount of Two Million Six Hundred Twenty -Eight
Thousand Six Hundred Sixty ($2,628,660.00) dollars.

SUMMARY EXPLANATION:
Authorizing the acceptance of AIG Grant # 3-53-0089-063-2026 from the Federal Aviation Administration
in the amount of $529,104.00. Legacy Crosswind Runway 4-22 Rehabilitation project at Yakima Air
Terminal - McAllister Field.
Authorizing the acceptance of AIP Grant # 3-53-0089-064-2026 from the Federal Aviation Administration
in the amount of $2,628,660.00. Legacy Crosswind Runway 4-22 Rehabilitation project at Yakima Air
Terminal - McAllister Field.
Applications were approved by City Council on February 17, 2026. Matching funds in the amount of $
166,198.70 come from Passenger Facility Charges (PFC's). No General Fund dollars are used in this
project.

STRATEGIC PRIORITY 24-25: A Thriving Yakima
