AN ORDINANCE - appropriating the sum of $350.00 to Account 6-12
• Building IrdproVement o± the Capital or Betterment .
Account classification of the _1959 appropriation
for Civil Defense, 13 - Other Public Safety, and
declaring an emergency.
VlaREAS .at the time of the adoption of the 1959 Budget
it could -not have been reasonably foreseen that the sum of T050.00
would be required to meet the matching money of a Federal grant to

wire the/building for a standby generator for radio equipment in
connection with the operation of the Civil Defense Dq2artment of
the City of Yakima and
WHEROAS an emergency exists of the type contemplated by
.LCW. 35.33.090 and the City Council finds it in the best interests
; III of the City of Yakima to make an appropriation for such expendi-
ture, now therefore
• BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY op YAKIMAs •
Section 1. That. an emergency exists requiring the experdi
• ture of the sum of 8350.00 for funds to match a federal grant for
• the wiring of the building for a standby generator for radio
equipment and that eaid emergency could not iiive been reasolaably
foreseen at the time of the adoption of the 1959 Budget .
. . Section 2... Thera is hereby appropriated from the
unappropriated funds of the city of Yakima the sum of 8350.00 •
to Current Expense, Civil-Defense 13 - Other Public Safety, •
Account 6-12 Building Improvement of the Capital or Betterment .

110 • Section 3. That this o:odinmce is one to provjde for
the expenditure of funds not budgeted; that this ordin is
one to provide for the immediate preservation of he public
peace v property v health and safety of the people of the City of
Yakima and an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this
ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its passage
apProval and publication as Provided by law and the City Charter.
