A RESOLUTION amending the Master Fee Schedule to incorporate the increase in rates
for the Stormwater Division.
WHEREAS, the City of Yakima (City) wishes to amend the Stormwater rates within the
Master Fee Schedule to account for City Council approving a utility tax increase on the
Stormwater Division to fund Fire Station 92; and
WHEREAS, the increase in Stormwater rates would be a 3.2% in 2026 and a 7.0% each
year during the period of 2027 through 2029 to the annual base rate; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds and determines it is in the best interest of the City of
Yakima and its residents to amend the Master Fee Schedule to increase the Stormwater rates
each year for the years 2026-2029; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA:
Section 1. The rates for Stormwater service as authorized by YMC 7.80, are hereby
amended as follows, and shall be reflected as such in the City of Yakima Master Fee Schedule:

Section 2. All other sections and provisions of the Master Fee Schedule shall remain
unchanged and fully enforceable as written. Nothing in this resolution changes, amends, or
modifies any other section or portion of the Master Fee Schedule other than as set forth in
Section 1.
Section 3. This Resolution will take effect immediately upon passage.

ITEM TITLE: Resolution amending the Master Fee Schedule to incorporate the
increase in rates for the Stormwater Division

SUMMARY EXPLANATION:
The City of Yakima (City) wishes to amend the Stormwater rates within the Master Fee Schedule to
account for City Council approving a 3% utility tax increase on the Stormwater Division to fund Fire
Station 92. The increase in Stormwater rates would be a 3.2% in 2026 and a 7.0% each year during the
period of 2027 through 2029 to the annual base rate; generating approximately $145,000 per year. The
Stormwater rates are assessed each year in April and October.
