R-2026- 033 A RESOLUTION authorizing a contract extension with Connell Oil Inc, for the purchase of bulk fuels and delivery of gasoline, diesel fuels and related products. WHEREAS, the City competitively bid the bulk purchase and delivery of gasoline, diesel fuel and related products used by the various City Departments; and WHEREAS, the City entered into City Contract No. 2020-018 per resolution R-2020-024 with Connell Oil Inc. to supply and deliver these products and services to the City; and, WHEREAS, the original term of said Contract, including extensions thereunder, currently terminates on March 18, 2026; and WHEREAS, a new solicitation, Bid No. 12603J Bulk Purchase and Delivery of Fuels, "As - Needed" Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) and Incidentals is ongoing; and, WHEREAS, the parties want the existing contract to remain in effect during the Bid process and pendency of award, and until a new contract is signed, now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA: The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute a contract extension, attached hereto and incorporated herein by this reference, with Connell Oil Inc, from March 18, 2026, through April 22, 2026, or when a new Contract is executed, whichever comes first, at which time Contract No. 2020-018 shall terminate unless terminated sooner by either party in accordance with the terms of the Contract., ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL this 3rd day of March 2026. Matt Brown, Mayor AIIEST: osalinda Ibarra, CMC, City Clerk Extension No. 4 of Contract No. 2020-018 Bulk Purchase and Delivery of Gasoline, Diesel Fuels and Related Products for the City of Yakima This Extension of the existing Contract No. 2020-018 entitled "Bulk Purchase and Delivery of Gasoline, Diesel Fuel and Related Products," entered into on March 4, 2020, (hereafter the "Contract") with Connell Oil (hereafter "Contractor") is made and entered into by and between the City of Yakima (hereafter the "City") and Contractor. Whereas, the City entered into City Contract No. 2020-018 per resolution R-2020-024 with Contractor for the purpose of supplying and delivering bulk gasoline, diesel fuels, and related services and products to City locations as specified in Bid J11902; and Whereas, the original term of said Contract, including extensions thereunder, currently terminates on March 18, 2026; and Whereas, solicitation for a new contract relating to Invitation to Bids No. 12603J for Bulk Purchase and Delivery of Fuels, "As -Needed" Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) and Incidentals is ongoing; and Whereas, the parties want the existing contract to remain in effect during the Bid process and pendency of award, and until a new contract is signed; and Now, therefore, the City and Contractor agree to the following extension of the existing Contract, under the conditions set forth: The term of Contract No. 2020-018 is hereby extended until whichever occurs first: upon 11:59 p.m. April 22, 2026, or upon the effective date of a new contract between the City and any vendor relating to Invitation to Bid No. 12603J for Bulk Purchase and Delivery of Fuels, "As -Needed" Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) and Incidentals, at which time Contract No. 2020-018 shall terminate, unless terminated sooner by either party in accordance with the terms of the Contract. Except as expressly modified herein, all other terms and conditions of the above -referenced Contract No. 2020-018 between the City of Yakima and Connell Oil shall remain in full force and effect. For Meeting of: March 3, 2026 ITEM TITLE: Resolution authorizing a contract extension with Connell Oil for the purchase of bulk fuels and delivery of gasoline, diesel fuels and related products (General Fund/Enterprise Fund) SUBMITTED BY: Scott Schafer, Public Works Director Susan Knotts, Buyer II, Purchasing *Kerry Jones, Fleet and Facilities Manager SUMMARY EXPLANATION: The City of Yakima competitively bid the purchase and delivery of bulk fuels and related products through Bid J11902 Bulk Purchase and Delivery of Gasoline, Diesel Fuels and Related Products. On March 4, 2020, the Yakima City Council approved the resulting contract with Connell Oil Inc., City Contract #2020-018, by Resolution R-2020-024. The original term of this contract, including extensions, expires on March 18, 2026. Because the new solicitation is ongoing, both the City and the Vendor, Connell Oil Inc., agree that a contract extension would be mutually beneficial. Both parties agree to extend the current contract from March 18, 2026, through April 22, 2026, or upon the effective date of a new contract between the City and the Awarded vendor of Bid 12603J, whichever comes first at which time Contract No. 2020-018 shall terminate unless terminated sooner by either party in accordance with the terms of the Contract. Enclosed for City Council review is Extension No. 4 of Contract No. 2020-018 and the original Contract #2020-018.
