A RESOLUTION revising the adopted City Council 2026 regular business meeting schedule.
WHEREAS, pursuant to the Open Public Meetings Act, the Council is adopting the revised
annual meeting schedule totaling 33 meetings, consisting of three business meetings per month
effective April 7, 2026; and
WHEREAS, the proposed schedule provides for regular meetings to occur with starting times
of 5:30 p.m. on specified Tuesdays of each month with exceptions provided for recess periods or
when a meeting would fall on a City, religious or cultural holiday or Election Day or another event;
and
WHEREAS, regular meetings of the City Council shall be scheduled to commence at 5:30
p.m. in the Council Chambers at the Yakima City Hall unless otherwise noticed in this resolution
or revised in the future and legally noticed and posted for a revised meeting time; and
WHEREAS, the City Council deems it to be in the best interest of the City of Yakima and
its residents to adopt a full meeting schedule for its general business meetings for the remainder
year 2026, now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA:
Section 1. That the City Council of the City of Yakima adopts the 2026 regular meeting schedule
as follows:
January 6 and 20
February 3 and 17
March 3 and 17
April 7, 14, and 21
May 5, 12, and 19
June 2, 9, and 16
July 7, 14, and 21
August 3, 11, and 18 (first Monday due to National Night Out Activities on August 4)
September 1, 8, and 15
October 6, 13, and 20
November 2, 10, and 17 (first Monday due to Election Day on November 3)
December 1, 8, and 15
Section 2. Notwithstanding any other provision of this resolution, any regular meeting of the
Council may be set, canceled or rescheduled to a different date, time or location by motion duly
adopted by the affirmative votes of at least four members of the City Council or by any other
manner as provided by law. The date, time and location of any meeting set or rescheduled to a
different date, time or location shall be noticed and posted in the manner provided by law.

At the February 17, 2026 meeting, the Yakima City Council passed an ordinance to add a third business
meeting per month. Commencing April 7, 2026, regular business meetings of the City Council will be
held on the first, second, and third Tuesday of each month, unless otherwise noted in the attached
resolution or revised in the future by majority of the Council.
