For Meeting of: February 3, 2026 ITEM TITLE: Council Nominating Committee recommendation regarding appointment to boards, commissions, committees SUBMITTED BY: Reedy Berg, Chair SUMMARY EXPLANATION: The Council Nominating Committee met on January 26, 2026 and made the following recommendation: • Arts Committee - appoint Elizabeth Morrier McGree • Yakima Housing Authority - reappoint Abdon Godinez • Hotel and Motel Commission (for TPA) - appoint Jason Jones and Sara Mitchell • Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee - appoint Trevor Duncan ITEM BUDGETED: STRATEGIC PRIORITY 24-25: An Engaged Yakima RECOMMENDATION: Motion to approve recommendation. ATTACHMENTS: 01.26.2026 Minutes_Council Nominating Committee 4 COUNCIL NOMINATING COMMITTEE MINUTES City Manager's Conference Room Monday January 26, 2026 The meeting convened at 4:00 p.m. Council present: Reedy Berg, Felisa Gonzalez, and Matt Brown Staff present: City Clerk Rosalinda Ibarra Reedy was selected as Chair of this meeting. 1. The Council Nominating Committee reviewed applications and made the following recommendations: MOTION: Gonzalez moved and Brown seconded to recommend Elizabeth Morrier McGree for appointment to the Community Member position on the Arts Commission. The motion carried unanimously. MOTION: Brown moved and Berg seconded to recommend Abdon Godinez for reappointment to the Yakima Housing Authority. The motion carried unanimously The Council Nominating Committee reviewed applicants nominated by the Yakima Valley Lodging Association and made the following recommendations: MOTION: Brown moved and Berg seconded to recommend Jason Jones and Sara Mitchell to the Hotel and Motel Commission. The motion carried unanimously. It was Committee consensus to add on another item regarding an application for the Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee. MOTION: Berg moved and Brown seconded to recommend Trevor Duncan to the Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee. The motion carried unanimously. 2. The meeting adjourned at 4:08 p.m. • \ Red , air 5
