RESOLUTION NO. R-2026-012
authorizing a grant application to the Federal Aviation Administration for
the Yakima Air Terminal Building Modernization project for Capital
Improvements at the Yakima Air Terminal -McAllister Field.
WHEREAS, the City owns and operates the Yakima Air Terminal -McAllister Field in
accordance with applicable Federal, State, and Local regulations; and
WHEREAS, the Yakima Air Terminal -McAllister Field has been notified that grant funds
are available to maintain and/or improve the airport upon submission of completed Airport
Terminal Program (ATP) grant and Airport Improvement Grant (AIG) grant applications and
satisfaction of certain conditions; and
WHEREAS, the Yakima Air Terminal -McAllister Field has a current and complete Airport
Master Plan, which details a variety of required capital improvement projects, including
construction and modernization of the airport's Terminal Facility infrastructure; and
WHEREAS, the grant application will request a total of Eight Million, Six -Hundred and
Fifty -Four Thousand, Six -Hundred and Fifteen ($8,604,615) dollars in ATP and AIG funding
administered by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA); and
WHEREAS, the City Council deems it to be in the best interest of the City and its residents
to authorize submission of the grant application for grant funds needed to accomplish the
identified capital improvements, now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA:
The City Manager is hereby authorized to submit an AIP and ATP grant applications to the FAA
for the Yakima Air Terminal Building Modernization project for the Yakima Air Terminal -McAllister
Field.
