And as all of Council knows - I didn't do that for the money! Mandated Mayor Appointments include: Police Pension Board, Fire Pension Board , Chair Lodging Tax Advisory Committee (LTAC), 911 Ops Board, Yak -Corps Board, and Legend' Casino 2% Committee • Other Boards/Committees served on during last six years include: Chamber of Commerce (Ex Officio), Yakima Valley Tourism Board (Ex Officio), Yakima Basin Integrated Plan (YBIP), Mayors of Yakima County, City Council Nominating Committee, MLK Aquatic Center Committee and Campaign, Southeast Yakima Community Fund Raising Committee, Yakima County Office of Emergency Management Executive Committee, Henry Beauchamp Community Center Board, Yakima County Fish Recovery Board, SIED Board, AWC Advanced Municipal Leadership Certificate, AWC Large Cities Board, and Legislative Priorities Advisory Committee, Miller Park Revitalization Committee, Yakima County Conference of Governments (YVCOG) Executive Committee and National Association of Regional Conferences (NARC) Board member, and Yakima County Board of Health, Chair • Non Council related Boards/Activities prior to and while on Council: City of Yakima Planning Commission (2014-19). Chamber of Commerce Business member/AmbassadorNolunteer (2011-2023), Downtown Association of Yakima (DAY) attendee and volunteer for many events, Habitat For Humanity Women's Builds and Home Owner Key Presentations, Yakima Sports Commission (race day volunteer), National Day of Prayer committee member and volunteer 4 years, Yakima Healing Center Advisory Board, Yakima County Republican Women, Yakima Foursquare Church Volunteer Pastor, adult education teacher, and Council Member • Represent the City at MANY MANY ground breakings, ribbon cuttings, anniversaries and celebrations of local businesses and community agencies • Honored to represent and speak tributes on behalf of the City at both MLK parades/events, and NAACP event • Honored to represent the City by invitation to the Yakama Nation Tribal Council, (possibly first Mayor of Yakima to do so), and to give greetings and walk in parade with the elders at two annual Pow Wows • Honored to support our Recovery Community members , joining in walks, special events Overdose Awareness days, touring facilities... always speaking encouragement • Honored to give greetings to the MULTIPLE conferences that come to the Yakima Convention Center, while extolling our great restaurants, wineries, breweries, weather, sports, and so much more • Other FUN opportunities I have had as Mayor: visiting a local cub scout group, visiting a local girl scout group, having a Q&A with a Jr, High leadership class, sharing with the local Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), speaking to a private women's book club, sharing at annual Mayor's Prayer Breakfast (Thank you Reverent Trimble), shared God's love and promise at both of Sean Feucht's Worship Yakima everts, spoke appreciation and respect at annual Yakima Police Department (YPD) Awards celebration,,, I can never say enough to them and about them.
