RE: Roof Replacement through City of Yakima's Single-Family Emergency Home Repair
Program
Dear City Manager and Yakima Council Members,
My husband and I just want to THANK YOU for allowing this program and to say we hope it will
continue as it has been SUCH a blessing to us. We know a few others who have qualified for
this program and received new roofs also, and we ALL feel like qualifying for this program was
like winning the lottery. Some such as us could never have saved enough to have a new roof
put on and others such as us have a handicapped spouse. (My husband is an amputee).
We thought the way the program worked from signing up and filling out the necessary forms to
the companies that came to bid on the job, to being able to choose the color of shingles to the
way the men worked was so smooth. Harley A & S General Construction out of Selah was the
roofing company that won our job. My husband was particularly impressed with their work ethic.
From start to finish, they protected our plants, porch, etc. from damage and debris. Then there
was not even a nail left afterwords. The men were in and out in 2.5 days. It was a joy to watch
them work.
We hope this program continues with your support. It was SUCH a blessing to us and we thank
yo from the bottom of our hearts!
