For Meeting of: December 9, 2025 ITEM TITLE: Resolution authorizing acceptance of a donation of$50,000 for general operations at the Harman Center SUBMITTED BY: Scott Schafer, Director of Public Works *Ken Wilkinson, Parks & Recreation Manager SUMMARY EXPLANATION: An anonymous donation through BNY Mellon Trust of Delaware has been graciously given to the City in the amount of$50,000 to be used specifically towards the general operations at the Harman Center to assist the City with recent budget cuts to the Harman Center. City Council approval is required for acceptance of the donation due to the amount equaling or exceeding $50,000. ATTACHMENTS: Harman.Donation.Resolution-BNY Mellon Trust of Delaware-12.9.2025.docx 59 RESOLUTION NO. 2025- A RESOLUTION authorizing the City of Yakima to accept an anonymous monetary donation in the sum of Fifty-Thousand Dollars ($50,000.00) through BNY Mellon Trust of Delaware for use to assist in funding the general operation of the Harman Center. WHEREAS, the City of Yakima (City) owns the Harman Center located at 101 N. 65th Ave., Yakima, WA; and WHEREAS, an anonymous donor through BNY Mellon Trust of Delaware approached the City to donate the sum of Fifty-Thousand Dollars ($50,000.00) for use to assist in funding the general operation of the Harman Senior Center; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Yakima finds that it is in the best interests of its residents to accept the donation, now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA: The City Manager is hereby authorized to accept the anonymous donation of Fifty- Thousand Dollars ($50,000.00) through BNY Mellon Trust of Delaware for use to assist in funding the general operation of the Harman Senior Center.
