ORDINANCE NO. 2017-011
of the City of Yakima, Washington, relating to a Transportation Benefit
District; modifying the transportation improvements to be funded by the
district.
WHEREAS, on January 10, 2017, the City Council approved a Transportation Benefit
District ("TBD") project list; and,
WHEREAS, the City wishes to modify the transportation improvements to be exercised or
funded on that list; and
WHEREAS, the City provided proper notice, conducted a public hearing on March 21,
2017, and took public comment regarding the proposed modified project list; Now, Therefore;
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA:
Section 1. The City Council finds it is in the public interest, following a public hearing
and using the criteria listed in RCW 36.73.020(1), to modify the project list and adopts the
Amended Transportation Benefit District Project List (Attached as Exhibit A) as the transportation
improvements to be funded through the TBD. The Amended Transportation Benefit District
Project List replaces the Transportation Benefit District ($15) Project List.
Section 2. This ordinance shall become effective and shall be in full force and effect
30 days after its passage and publication in accordance with law.

ITEM TITLE: Public hearing and ordinance relating to the Transportation Benefit
District; modifying the transportation improvements to be funded by
the district

SUMMARY EXPLANATION:
On March 7, 2017, the Yakima City Council set a public hearing to take public comment on
possible amendments to the Transportation Benefit District ("TBD") project list originally
approved on January 10, 2017.
Following a Public Hearing on March 21, 2017, if the City Council finds it to be in the best
interests of the City to amend the Transportation Benefit District ("TBD") project list, a draft
ordinance is attached. The City's Amended Transportation Benefit District Project List is attached
as "Exhibit "A" of the draft ordinance and identifies projects within the City that constitute
transportation improvements that may be funded by the TBD.
