ITEM TITLE: October 2025 Investment Transaction Report

SUMMARY EXPLANATION:
This monthly report is provided in accordance with RCW 35.39.032, which requires the responsible
official or committee to report all investment transactions to the City Council each month. A
comprehensive Treasury report is also presented quarterly, offering detailed investment positions,
analysis, economic outlook, and strategy updates.

STRATEGIC PRIORITY 24-25: A Resilient Yakima
RECOMMENDATION: Submitted for review. No action necessary.

RE: October 2025 Investment Transactions
The investment transactions for October 2025 were:
Matured:
• $2,000,000 US Treasury, matured 10/31/25, Yield is 3.27%
Called:
• none
Purchased:
• $2,000,000 US Treasury, matures 11/30/28, Yield is 3.46%
The focus of investments now is to fill maturity gaps in a shortened (3-4-year maturity
horizon, instead of 5-year pre-COVID) ladder to minimize reinvestment risk subject to
rates at any one point in time and hedging against further decreasing rate exposure.
This monthly memorandum of all investment transactions complies with RCW 35.39.032 ("The
responsible official or committee shall make a monthly report of all investment transactions to the
city legislative authority").
