40 AN ORDINANCE providing for the annexation by the City of Yakima,
Washington, of certain property contiguous to the
Oity of Yakima, and zoning the same as R-5, Multiple
Family Residence Zone, and declaring an emergency.
WHEREAS, proceedings have been had in accordance with
Chapter 128 of the Laws of 1945 for the annexation of the property
hereinafter described, and
WHEREAS, at a regularly scheduled meeting of the Planning
Commission of the City of Yakima a hearing was ha pursuant to
legal notice, on June 7p 1960, upon the zoning of said property
hereinafter described and annexed, and
WHEREAS, the said Planning Commission duly recommended
that said property be annexed to the City of Yakima and that all
of said property hereinafter described be zoned at the time of
such annexation as R-3 Multiple Family Residence Zone, and
• WHEREAS, the City Council finds that such property should
be annexed to the City of Yakima, and further finds that such
recommendation of the Planning Commission for zoning of said prop
erty should be approved for the reasons that ouch zoning is in
accord with good planning and with the comprehensive plan of the
City of Yakima; that the majority of the property owners in the
vicinity do not oppose the classificaticn; that the needs of the
City and community do require such zoning. classloCication, and that
the highest and best use for said property is Multiple Family
Residence, now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OP YAKIMA:
Section 1. That the following described property con-
e tiguous to the City of Yakima, Washington, to-wit:
The Southeast quarter of the Northwest quarter
of the Northeast quarter of Section 27, Town-
411 ship 13 North, Range 18, E.W.M. and the East
175 feet of the North 235 feet of the South-
west quarter of the Northwest quarter of the
Northeast quarter of Section 27, Township 13
North, Range 18, E.W.M.
be and the same is hereby annexed to the City of Yakima.
Section 2. The recommendation of the Planning Com-
mission of the City of Yakima that the above described real
Property should be zoned R-3, Multiple Family Residence Zone
be and the same is hereby approved, and said property is hereby
zoned as R-3 Multiple Family Residence Zone.
Section 3. The next regularly amended Use District Map
prepared by and for the City of Yakima shall show said property
as R•3 Multiple Family Residence Zone.
Section 4. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and
• directed to file with the Yakima County Auditor a certified copy
of this ordinance.
Section 5. This ordinance is one to provide for the
immediate preservation of the public peace, property, health ant
eafety of the people of the City of Yakima, and an emergency is
hereby declared to exist and thisordinance shall be 4n full
force and effect immediately upon its passage, approval and
publication as provided by law and the City Charter.
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL, signed and approved this
day of June, 19600
