City Clerk avid Edler, Mayor ITEM TITLE: BUSINESS OF THE CITY COUNCIL YAKIMA, WASHINGTON AGENDA STATEMENT Item No. 1 7 For Meeting Of November 21, 2006 Consideration of Resolution declaring surplus three (3) Transit buses and authorizing disposal in a manner most favorable to the City of Yakima. SUBMITTED BY: Richard Wonner, Fleet and Facilities Manager CONTACT PERSON/TELEPHONE: Richard Wonner, 576-6412 SUMMARY EXPLANATION: Yakima Transit recently placed six (6) new transit buses into service replacing older buses, those beyond their anticipated life of twelve years. Therefore, three (3) buses are no longer required to fill the current needs of Yakima Transit and should be removed from the fleet. In two previous Council Actions, June 27, 2006 and July 11, 2006, two old buses were approved for sale to Asotin County PTBA and five others were sold at auction. Combining the three actions effectively removes a total of ten buses from service.
