R-2006-67 declaring a Xerox DocuColor 12 Color Copier SN# FU2058973 and Xerox X12 Controller SN# LW0760981 to be surplus to the needs of the City of Yakima and the Information Systems Division, and authorizing the trade-in of the color copier and controller identified herein to Xerox Corporation. WHEREAS, the City of Yakima owns one used Xerox DocuColor 12 color copier with Serial Number FU2058973 and one used Xerox X12 color copier controller with serial number LW0760981 for which the City and the Information Systems Division have no immediate or foreseeable use and which are surplus to the needs of the City and the Information Systems Division; and WHEREAS, the City Council finds that it would be in the best interest of the City to trade- in said color copier and controller for an amount of $3,000 to Xerox Corporation towards the purchase of a new Xerox DocuColor 240 color copier and a new Creo X250 controller, now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA: The City Council hereby declares the aforementioned color copier and controller to be surplus to the needs of the City of Yakima and the Information Systems Division, and authorizes and directs the City Manager to trade-in said color copier and controller to Xerox Corporation for an amount of $3,000 towards the purchase of a Xerox DocuColor 240 color copier and a Creo X250 controller. Information Systems would like to offer the copier and controller for trade-in to Xerox Corporation towards the purchase of a new Xerox color copier and controller. The existing color copier is over six years old, is slow, and is expensive to maintain and operate. Funds realized from the sale will be credited towards the purchase of a new Xerox color copier and controller that is more than three times faster, provides better resolution, and has one-fourth the operating costs. The purchase of the new copier and controller is included in the 2006 budget.
