Project -Based Vouchers The Housing Authority intends to award up to 95 project -based vouchers for new construction and preservation of affordable units within the City of Yakima. The proposal will be awarded based on its consistency with the HUD statutory goals of deconcentrating of poverty and expanding housing and economic opportunities and the Housing Authority's priorities to support housing for homeless individuals, housing which provides supportive services to their residents and housing located within the City of Yakima that serves the expand housing and economic activities. B.3 Progress Report. Provide a description of the PHA's progress in meeting its Mission and Goals described in its 5-Year PHA Plan. Following are goals and objectives for the 5-Year Plan: • Continue to serve substantially the same number of households as an MTW Expansion agency - HUD determined that the Housing Authority was compliant in serving substantially the same number of households for FY2023 (the most recent period under review). • Continue to implement the MTW supplement - The Housing Authority anticipates implementing the remaining activities within the MTW supplement by the end of FY2025. • Increase the number of landlords participating in the Section 8 program - The Housing Authority has increased the number of landlords participating in the Section 8 program by 18 in FY 2023 and 21 in FY 2024. • Increase Section 8 vouchers through requests for incremental and/or special needs vouchers - The Housing Authority, in coordination with the VA, has requested an additional 15 VASH vouchers. • Grow the home ownership program, utilizing Section 8 vouchers, for not less Previous version is obsolete Page 2 of 4 form HUD-50075-HCV (9/30/2027) than 10 families - The Housing Authority is working with NYU on creating a DRA pilot program to grow home ownership for at least 10 families. • Continue to house homeless through 100 project -based vouchers with our community partners - The Housing Authority has set aside 100 project -based vouchers for housing homeless throughout Yakima County. • Continue to lease an remaining 113 VASH vouchers in connection with the Veteran's Affair Office - The Housing Authority currently has 99 VASH vouchers leased and issued the remaining vouchers to families searching for housing. • Work with our community partners to grow the Foster Youth Initiative program - The Housing Authority currently has 9 FYI vouchers and is coordinating with DCYF for additional referrals. • Preserve the Family Self -Sufficiency program for at least 125 families on Section 8 - The Housing Authority currently has served 100 families and has 91 families enrolled in the program. • Establish Supportive Housing and maintain Supportive Employment to augment the Family Self -Sufficiency program - The Housing Authority established supportive employment and currently has 7 individuals enrolled in the program. • Lease 25 Section 8 vouchers in connection with the MOU with DCYF for family unification - The Housing Authority currently has 17 vouchers leased in connection with the MOU for family unification and is working with 2 families. Overall, the Housing Authority has served 25 individuals in connection with DCYF. • Maintain compliance with all applicable program requirements - The Housing Authority is currently in compliance with all applicable program requirements.
