AM ORDINANCE accepting the recommendation of the Planning Com-
mission for the rezone of certain property located
in the vicinity. of Nob Hill Blvd and Thornton Avenue.
WHEREAS, on I 6 ,. 1960, at a regularly scheduled

meeting of the ty Council, a hearing was had upon the recommen-
dation of the Planning Commission that certain specified property
in the City of Yakima, to-wit:
South 6 feet of the NE%, of.the SW., of SW, of
the NEY., Section 27, Township 13 North, Range 18,
E.W.M., and the SE„ of the SW., of the SWY4, of
the BUZ, of Section 27, Township 13 North, Range
18, E.W.M., lese the right-of-way of the Y.V.T.
Co., and except the South 226 feet of the East
145 feet .
be rezoned from R-1, Single Family Residential to B-2, Local
Business Zone, and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that such recommendation
of the Planning Commission for such rezoning should be approved
for the following reasons, to-wit: That such rezoning is in
accord with good planning and with the Comprehensive Plan of
the City of Yakima; that the majority of property owners in the
vicinity do not oppose the change in classification; that the
needs of the city and cemmunity do require such change and •that
the highest and best use is for Local Business purposes, now
therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OP YAKIMA:
Section 1. The recommendation of. the Planning Commission
of the City of Yakima that the following described real property
III situate in the vicinity of Nob Hill Blvd. and Thornton Avenue
and more particularly described as follows, to-wits
.
South 6 feet of the NE14, of the SIT;4, of SW, of
the NEg, Section 27, Township 13 North, Range 18,
E.W.M.9 and the SE}, of the S414, of the swg, of
the NE, of Section 27 Township 13 North, Range
18, E.W.M., less the right-of-way of the Y.V.T.
Co., and except the South 226 feet of the East
145 feet.
be rezoned from R-1, Single Family Residential to B-2, Local
Business, be and the same is hereby approved.
Section 2. The above change in zoning shall be included
and depicted on the next regularly amended Use District Map pre-
pared by and for the said City.
Section 3. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and
directed to file with the Yakima County Auditor a certified copy
of this ordinance.
Section 4. This ordinance shall become effective thirty
days after its passage, approval and publication as provided by
law and the City Charter.
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL, signed and approved this
day of 1 1960.
