A RESOLUTION repealing Resolution No. R-2021-058, Community Crosswalks Policy.
WHEREAS, on May 4, 2021, City Council adopted a Community Crosswalks Policy —
Resolution R-2021-058; and
WHEREAS, the City Council on July 15, 2025, voted to instruct
resolution repealing the Community Crosswalks Policy; now, therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA:
to prepare a
Resolution No. R-2021-058, enacted on May 4, 2021, by the City Council of the City of
Yakima, is hereby repealed.
ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL this 2nd day of September, 2025.

YAKIMA, WASHINGTON
AGENDA STATEMENT
SUMMARY EXPLANATION:
At the request of the City Council, an overview of the current Community Crosswalks Policy was
presented at the July 15, 2025, City Council meeting. During this meeting, Council voted 5-2 to repeal
the policy, which had been adopted on May 4, 2021, through Resolution No. R-2021-058. The attached
Resolution officially repeals the policy. As indicated in the Resolution, the policy was supplementary to
the procedures outlined in Yakima Municipal Code Chapter 8.20, Right-of-Way Use Permits, which will
continue to remain in effect.
