HomeMy WebLinkAbout1960-144 ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE amending Ordinance No. 69, entitled "AN ORDINANOE re- lating to vacations 9 sick leave civil leave military leave establishing rules and regulations on time off establishing holidays and the basic work week for all employees of the City of Yakima except Firemen, and repealing all resolutions ordinances or part of ordinances in conflict herewith", and declaring an emergency. BE IT ORDAINED BY TEL CITY OF YAKIMA: egtion,10 That portion of Section 1 of Ordinance Teo 69 entitled "WORK WEEK" is hereby amended to read as follows: WORK WEEK (a) The basic work week shall be forty houre with the except.- ion of the Fire Department and some few jobs which require opecia/ oonclderation by mutual agreement, The standard work day shall be eight hours. For those employees on an hourly basis overtime will 111 be allowed when required to work a at the rate of one time and one half. Employees paid on the monthly basis will not be allowed over- time, but if assigned specifically to overtime work outside the scope of their regularly assigned duties, compensatory time off may be al?owed. All credit for compe:esatory time must be allowed by the department head. and 7eis appreval muet be obtained before taking such compensatory . idme off. Compensatory time will not norm ally bt allowed for an employee doing his regular assigned duties. PROVIDED v however that when because of seasonal requirements or work schedules outside of the control of the City professional or eeteae-qe employees paid on a monthly bas are required to work in exeess of eight hours per day, overtime may be allowed upon • approval by the City Manager. . .
