R-2004-192 A RESOLUTION to amend the Six-year Transportation Improvement Program (STIP) for the period of 2005 through 2010 to include projects affecting the City's Transportation Plan. WHEREAS, the City of Yakima annually prepares, reviews and adopts a Six-year Transportation Program for the construction or repair of streets in the City of Yakima for the ensuing six year period, all as contemplated and required by State RCW 35.77.010 and applicable Federal law, and WHEREAS, the City of Yakima desires to amend the adopted 6 -Year STIP, as contemplated and required by RCW 36.70A.070(6) to ensure compliance with the Growth Management Act and consistency of the Comprehensive Plan and the 6 -Year STIP, and WHEREAS, this amendment is limited to incorporation of the projects listed in 6 - Year Transportation Improvement Plan for the period of 2005 to 2010 to the Capital Facilities Element of the Yakima Urban Area Comprehensive Plan, which is contemplated and provided under RCW 36.70A.130(2B) and RCW 35.77.010, and WHEREAS, a public hearing has been held by the Yakima City Council on amending the 6 -Year Transportation Improvement Plan on Tuesday, December 14, 2004, with proper public notice as required by RCW 35.77.010 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA: The adopted 6 -Year Transportation Improvement Plan for the period of 2005 through 2010 for the City of Yakima, shall be amended as shown on the revised 6 -Year Transportation Improvement Plan attached. Wendell Adams, City Engineer, 575-6111. SUMMARY EXPLANATION: Attached is a copy of the proposed amended Six -Year Transportation Improvement Plan (STIP) for the 2005- 2010 planning years. The City of Yakima has identified a need to amend the current Six Year Program for the construction of streets and arterial streets in the City of Yakima to include additional Transit and Roadway projects affecting the Federal Surface Transportation Program funds the City receives accomplish improvements within the City (see attached). This amendment needs to be included in the City of Yakima STIP. This amendment will allow the City to construct various Transit and Roadway projects that were not included in the previously adopted STIP.
