HomeMy WebLinkAbout1960-151 OR:DINA:tin 11'0 AI ORDINANCE regulating the operation of railroads and providing for protection at grade crossings located on North First Street at neou and "H" Streets in the City of Yakima and providing a penalty for the violation thereof and declaring an emergency© BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA: Section 1. It shall be unlawful for any person operating any locomotive to blow or sound the whistle or bell of such loco- motive at the grade crossing of the Moxee branch of the Northern Pacific Railway Q of North First Street at "SP Street and the Cascade Lumber Co. spur grade crossing of North First Street at "H" Street, in the City of Yakima except to prevent an accident not otherwise avoidable. Section 2, No railroad train shall be operated across 410 North First Street in the City o± Yakima at either the Moxee branC40 grade crossing of the Northern Pacific Railway Co. at "CO Street or the Cascade Lumber Co. spur grade crossing at "H" Street unless there is installed at such grade crossings a flagman gates or other appropoAate signal device. Section 3 Any pet_ °son firm or corporation violating any section of this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be punished by a fine not ex. ceeding $300.00 or by imprisonment in the City Jail for a period not exceeding 90 days or by both such fine and imprisorment.
