ITEM TITLE: Public Hearing to receive comments on the Draft 2025-2029
Consolidated Plan and 2025 Annual Action Plan for CDBG and
HOME funds, Second Hearing

SUMMARY EXPLANATION:
As required by Federal rules, the City of Yakima must provide two opportunities for public comment on
the 2025-2029 Consolidated Plan and the 2025 Annual Action Plan. This Plan documents the community
need as well as the implementation plan for Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and HOME
Investment Partnerships Program (HOME) funds over the next five years. The first public hearing took
place on November 19, 2024. The required written comment period opened on July 3, 2025, and closes
today, August 4, 2025; this was advertised in the Yakima Herald-Republic and El Sol newspapers.
The 2025-2029 Consolidated Plan and 2025 Annual Action Plan is available to view online at:

STRATEGIC PRIORITY 24-25: An Engaged Yakima
RECOMMENDATION: Adopt resolution authorizing staff to forward the plan to HUD for final approval;
any public comments received will be documented in the plan before forwarding to HUD.
