A RESOLUTION amending the adopted 2002 through 2007 Six -Year Transportation
Improvement Program (STIP).
WHEREAS, the City of Yakima annually prepares, reviews and adopts a Six Year
Program for the construction of streets and arterial streets in the City of Yakima for the
ensuing six year period, all as contemplated and required by State and Federal law, and
WHEREAS, the City of Yakima has identified a need to amend the current Six Year
Program for the construction of streets and arterial streets in the City of Yakima to include
$35,000 of Federal Surface Transportation Program funds to accomplish a Traffic Model
Upgrade, and
WHEREAS, a public hearing must be held on said amended program before final
approval, now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA:
That said amended program shall be presented for hearing and determination on Tuesday,
April 16, 2002, at the hour of 2:00 PM on said day, in the Council Chambers of the City of
Yakima, at Yakima City Hall, Yakima, Washington, or as soon thereafter as the same may be
heard, and that notice of such hearing be given as approved by law.

SUMMARY EXPLANATION:
Attached is a copy of the proposed amended Six -Year Transportation Improvement Plan
(STIP) for the 2002 — 2007 planning years. The City of Yakima has identified a need to
amend the current Six Year Program for the construction of streets and arterial streets in
the City of Yakima to include $35,000 of Federal Surface Transportation Program funds to
accomplish a Traffic Model Upgrade. This amendment needs to be included in the City of
Yakima STIP. This amendment will allow the City to upgrade our existing outdated traffic
model and will also be used in unison with the regional traffic model to be used for
roadway improvement projects.
