R-2002- o4 A RESOLUTION fixing the time and place for hearing on the amended Six - Year Transportation Improvement Program for the period of 2002 through 2007. WHEREAS, the City of Yakima annually prepares, reviews and adopts a Six Year Program for the construction of streets and arterial streets in the City of Yakima for the ensuing six year period, all as contemplated and required by State and Federal law; and WHEREAS, the City of Yakima has identified a need to amend the current Six -Year Program for the construction of streets and arterial streets in the City of Yakima; and WHEREAS, a public hearing must be held on said program before final approval, now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA: That said program shall be presented for hearing and determination on Tuesday, January 15, 2002, at the hour of 2:00 o'clock p.m. on said day, in the Council Chambers of the City of Yakima, at Yakima City Hall, Yakima, Washington, or as soon thereafter as the same may be heard, and that notice of such hearing be given as approved by law. SUMMARY EXPLANATION: Attached is a copy of the proposed amended Six -Year Transportation Improvement Plan (STIP) for the 2002 — 2007 planning years. After the recent annexation, Washington Avenue from 48th Avenue to 72nd Avenue and Nob Hill Widening from 68th Avenue to 80th Avenue were dropped from the County' s STIP and need to be included in the City of Yakima STIP. This amendment will allow the recently annexed area to be consistent with the approved City Budget and the following years budget for these projects. This will also make the City' s agreement with Congdon match the required agreed upon improvements. A public hearing will need to be set for January 15th to amend this STIP.
