ITEM TITLE: Yakima Training Center proclamation

SUMMARY EXPLANATION:
At the July 15, 2025 City Council meeting, there was a motion to bring forward a proclamation to
recognize Yakima Training Center and the 250th US Army Anniversary and families in active-duty
service. Attached is the proclamation for Council consideration. If approved, the proclamation will be
read and presented to (USAAAD) Captain Ryan Borden, (EOD) Captain Chris Aselton, and (HQ
Commander) Command Sargent Major Anton Ruffin.

recognition of the Yakima Training Center on the occasion of the 250th anniversary of the
Vnited States Army, honoring their enduring legacy of courage, sacrifice, and service; and

for generations of soldiers who have dedicated themselves to protecting the freedoms and values

security and determination of the (United States; and

the vitality of our military community; and
LEERS, the City of(Yakima acknowledges that this recognition is long overdue
and expresses profound gratitude to allwho have served, trained; worked, and supported Coved
ones at the (Yakima Training Center, both past and present,for their selfless dedication to our
nation; and
WRE AS, (Yakima, an ACC-America city, embraces its deep connection to the (Yakima
Training Center and the Vnited States Army,proudly affirming its identity as a community
committed to supporting our troops, their families, and the mission of the armed forces;
NOW VaIEFOTE, I, Patricia cByers, Mayor of the City of(Yakima and on behalf of
the (Yakima City Council hereby proclaim that (Yakima, Washington shall henceforth ident f
itself as a city that proudly supports our military. We honor the historic significance of the
(Yakima Training Center, the Vnited States Army, and the families of active-duty service
members, and we pledge our continued support, gratitude, and respect for all who serve and
their families who stand 6y them to protect our great nation.
