R-2001-133 A RESOLUTION declaring one used 1985 diesel powered mobile air compressor to be surplus and authorizing its sale to the City of Warden Department of Public Works WHEREAS, the City of Yakima owns one used Sullivan Diesel Powered Mobile Air Compressor in the Equipment Rental and Replacement Division, equipment number ER 4077, for which the City has no immediate or foreseeable use and which are surplus to the needs of the City; and WHEREAS, the City of Warden Public Works Department has offered three thousand ($3,000) dollars for said used Mobile Air Compressor; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Yakima deems it to be in the best interest of the City of Yakima to sell this Mobile Air Compressor forthwith rather than sell them at a public auction of City surplus equipment at a later date, now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA: The City Council hereby declares the aforementioned 1985 Sullivan Diesel Powered Mobile Air Compressor to be surplus to the needs of the City of Yakima, and the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to sell said 1985 Sullivan Diesel Powered Mobile Air Compressor to The City of Warden Public Works Department for Three thousand ($3,000) dollars plus sales tax. This piece of equipment will be used in our water, street and park departments for regular maintenance uses. At this time the City of Warden does not own an air compressor and rents one as needed, so it would be of great benefit of the City to purchase one at a reasonable cost. This mobile air compressor is to be sold at auction this fall. The City of Warden's Department of Public Works is requesting to purchase this surplus vehicle for the total sum of $3,000. (The vehicle in question is ER 4077.) The total price of $3,000 is reasonable for this surplus vehicle of this age. Staff is requesting the City Council declare this unit as surplus to our needs and authorize the sale of this vehicle to the Warden Department of Public Works for $3,000, plus sales tax.
