HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-2001-055 Confiscated Vehicle AuctionRESOLUTION NO. R-2001-55 A RESOLUTION authorizing the sale of confiscated vehicles owned by the City. WHEREAS, the City of Yakima owns personal property listed on the schedule attached hereto, for which property is surplus property, for which property should be sold in the manner most advantageous to the City, now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA: The City Manager of the City of Yakima is hereby authorized and directed to dispose of confiscated vehicles owned by the City listed on the schedule attached hereto by selling said property at a public auction sale at a time and place and in the manner determined by the City Manager to be most advantageous to the City; and the City Manager is further hereby authorized to hire services of an auctioneer and incur other necessary and reasonable expenses incidental to such sale, with the cost of such sale to be paid from the proceeds thereof. Last year, the City/County Narcotics Unit (CCNU) seized vehicle auctions netted $41,255. The auction will be held on Saturday, March 31, 2001, at Heaverlo's Auctions. Purchasing is responsible for coordination of the auction and Department Directors are responsible for determining when an item has no foreseeable use to their operating divisions. Expenses incurred in this sale are paid for from the gross proceeds. The net proceeds are deposited with the Treasurer's Office and distributed as revenue to the appropriate funds.
