A RESOLUTION authorizing the City Manager and the City Clerk of Yakima to
execute a Quit Claim Deed releasing the City's interest in an unimproved access
easement.
WHEREAS, On January 27, 1983 the City of Yakima acquired an easement, by
document recorded under Auditor's File No 2678628, to a strip of land 50 feet wide
crossing the Southwest quarter of the Northwest quarter of Section 32, Township 13
North, Range 19, East, W.M.; and
WHEREAS, this easement was granted by Euclid Gamache and Leone
Gamache, husband and wife; and
WHEREAS, this easement was not purchased, improved nor maintained by the
City of Yakima; and
WHEREAS, the heirs and devisees of Euclid Gamache, deceased, and Leone
Gamache, as her separate estate, have requested that the City release its interest in this
unused easement to foster the redevelopment of the Gamache family holdings in this
area; and
WHEREAS, any compensation due the City of Yakima for the release of this
easement will be credited by the City to the Gamaches, or their successors in interest,
against future redevelopment costs; and
WHEREAS, the City Council deems it to be in the best interest of the City that
the easement be released now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA:
The City Manager and the City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to execute a
Quit Claim Deed in favor of the heirs and devisees of Euclid Gamache, deceased, and
Leone Gamache, as her separate estate, a copy of which is attached hereto and by
reference made a part hereof.
ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL this 6th day of February 2001.

THE GRANTOR, CITY OF YAKIMA, a Washington municipal corporation, for and in
consideration of value received, conveys and quit claims to the heirs and devisees of
Euclid Gamache, deceased, and Leone Gamache, as her separate estate, all of its
right, title, and interest in the following described real estate, situated in the County of
Yakima, State of Washington, to wit:
That part of the Southwest quarter of the Northwest quarter of Section 32, Township
13 North, Range 19 East, W.M., described as follows:
Commencing at the Northwest corner of said subdivision; thence South
0°32' East along the West line thereof 328.63 feet; thence North 89°43'
East 615.99 feet to the point of beginning; thence South 89°43' West,

SUMMARY EXPLANATION:
In January of 1983 the City of Yakima was granted an easement by Euclid Gamache
and Leone Gamache, husband and wife, over and across their property to provide
public access to several landlocked interior lots owned by the Gamaches. The
Gamache family is now requesting that the City release its interest in this unimproved
easement to permit the redevelopment of their family holdings in this area. Because
the City's interest in this easement was originally established by a Quit Claim Deed it
can most easily be released by another Quit Claim Deed.
Compensation for this release, as required under state law, is provided for in the
authorizing resolution.
