As you know, we paid for the damaged vehicle and took possession of the salvage on December 21, 2000. The high salvage bid was provided by Craig McBride at Northwest Auto Body in the amount of $4,200.00. All but Pasco Auto Wrecking went out and looked at the vehicle. After inspecting the vehicle, Milo's Body Shop declined to provide a salvage bid. We believe that the bid at $4,200.00, or 18% of the actual cash value is a fair value for the salvage. We recommend that this bid be accepted. Further outside storage could diminish the value of the vehicle. Once a bid has been accepted, the salvage will be sold to the buyer. The title will then be sent to the State of Washington Department of Licensing to notify them that the vehicle is considered a total loss. A bill of sale will be issued to the buyer. If in fact the vehicle is to be rebuilt, it will have to be reinspected by the Washington State Patrol and issued a new title stamped, "rebuilt" by the Department of Licensing. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call.
