R-2000 - 144 A RESOLUTION adopting an amended Six Year Transportation Improvement Program for the period of 2001 through 2006 for the construction of streets and arterial streets in the City of Yakima. WHEREAS, the City of Yakima annually prepares, reviews and adopts a Six Year Program for the construction of streets and arterial streets in the City of Yakima for the ensuing six year period, all as contemplated and required by State and Federal law, and WHEREAS, the City of Yakima has identified a need to amend the current Six Year Program for the construction of streets and arterial streets in the City of Yakima; and WHEREAS, after a public hearing on the matter, held at a regular meeting of the Yakima City Council on November 21, 2000 the City Council finds that the plan attached hereto should be adopted as the Six Year Transportation Improvement Program for the period of 2001 through 2006 for the construction of streets and arterial streets in the City of Yakima, now, therefore. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA: The Six -Year Construction Program for the period of 2001 through 2006, a copy of which is attached hereto and by this reference made a part hereof, is hereby adopted as the official Six -Year Transportation Improvement Program for the City of Yakima. Wendell Adams City Engineer Division Manager / 575-6096 SUMMARY EXPLANATION: Each year the City is required by RCW 35.77.010 and RCW 36.81.121 to update its Six -Year Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) for submittal to the Washington State Department of Transportation. This plan must include all transportation projects for which state gas tax revenue or federal revenue will be used. The existing approved plan for 2001 - 2006 does not include the Railroad Grade Separation Project, North 40th Avenue - Signal at Castlevale Project and Sidewalks/Pedestrian Facilities. These projects are the only addition or amendment to the 2001- 2006 TIP, at this time.
