RESOLUTION authori.zing the removal of eight Locust trees located in the in the city -owned parking lot on 3rd Street and Chestnut Avenue, Yakima, Washington. WHEREAS, eight Locust trees are currently located in the city -owned parking lot on 3rd Street and Chestnut Avenue, Yakima, Washington; and WHEREAS, the Committee for the Millennium Project recommends removal of the trees in order to address upcoming construction and removal of islands; and WHEREAS, the City Council deems it to be in the best interest of the City to authorize removal of said trees located in the city -owned parking lot on 3rd Street and Chestnut Avenue, Yakima, Washington, now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA: The removal of eight Locust trees located in the city -owned parking lot on. 3rd Street and Chestnut, Yakima, Washington is hereby authorized in order to facilitate construction of the Millennium Plaza. These trees are occupying islands that need to be removed to facilitate construction of the Millennium Plaza scheduled to begin within the next two weeks. Millennium Project staff will replace these trees with 19 new species of trees this coming spring.
