R-2000-126 declaring two 1991 Cushman Three -Wheel Trucksters surplus and authorizing the sale of one to the Catholic Diocese/Calvary Cemetery and donating the second to Yakima Youth Soccer Association. WHEREAS, the City of Yakima owns two used 1991 Cushman 3 -wheel Trucksers, equipment, numbers #5189 and #5190, for which the City has no immediate or foreseeable use and which is surplus to the needs of the City; and WHEREAS, Calvary Cemetery has offered five hundred dollars ($500.00) for one Cushman vehicle which is a reasonable price; and WHEREAS, the City Council finds that it would be in the best interest of the City to sell one Cushman vehicle forthwith rather than sell it at the public auction of surplus equipment at a later date, now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA: The City Council hereby declares the aforementioned 1991 Cushman 3 - Wheel Trucksters, equipment numbers #5189 and #5190 to be surplus to the needs of the City of Yakima, and the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to sell one said Cushman vehicle to Calvary Cemetery for five hundred dollars ($500.00) plus sales tax and donate the second vehicle to the Yakima Youth Soccer Association. Calvary Cemetery, a non-profit organization, has asked to purchase one of the vehicles at fair market value. Current value is $500. Yakima Youth Soccer Association, a non-profit organization, has need for the second utility vehicle to assist with maintenance tasks at the Perry Soccer complex. It will be used to put up and take down goals and nets and will reduce the need for vehicles to drive on the grass. Staff recommends that this second vehicle be donated to the Youth Soccer Association.
