Br IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA Section 1. It is unlawful for the owner or custodian of any aog to cause, permit or allow such dog to roam, run, stray, on to bE away from the premises of such owner or custodian and to be on any public plane, or on any public property, or the private property of another in the City of Yakima, unless such dog while away .rom snch premises be controlled by a leash or chain not more ther. eight (8)feet in length such control to be exercised by such ownev or onstodian or other competent and authorized person; and any dog found roaming, running, straying or being away from such premlses and not on leash as herein provided may be impounded subjeci, to redemption in the manner provided by ordinance, Section 2, Anyone violating or failinrr to comply with the pleovisiona of Seotion 1 of this ordinance shall be punishable by a ffne not exceeding $50.00, or by imprisonment in the city jeil for a term not exceeding ten (10) days, or by both such fine an, Section 3, That Sections 1 and 2 of this ordinance be eubmitted to the qualified electors (voters) of the City of Yakima at the General Election of November 8 1960 for ratification or re c) said proposition which shall be voted upon in the following menner: 111 There shall be placed upon the ballot a statement and caption of said proposition in substantially the following form: PROPOSITION4%* 9;070 yiyd WO. 10 (Caption) DOG "LEASH" CONTROL OFF PREMISES Shall Zections 1 and 2 of Ordinance No0 which require the keeping of dogs on the premises of the owner or custodian thereof, unless such dog while away .from such premieel be controlled by leash; defining offenses, authorizing impounding and prescribing penalties, be ratified and confirmed? Yes No " Every qualified elector (voter) at such election desiring to 410 vote in favor of the ratification of said ordinance sections aha11 vote a ballot containing the word "yes". Every qualified elector (voter) at such election desiring to vote for rejection of said ordinance sections shall vote a ballot containing the word "no".
