R-2000- 32 A RESOLUTION adopting an amended Six Year Transportation Improvement Program for the period of 2000 through 2005 for the construction of streetsand arterial streets in the City of Yakima. WHEREAS, the City of Yakima annually prepares, reviews and adopts a Six Year Program for the construction of streets and arterial streets in the City of Yakima for the ensuing six year period, all as contemplated and required by State and Federal law; and WHEREAS, the City of Yakima has identified a need to amend the current Six Year Program for the construction of streets and arterial streets in the City of Yakima; and WHEREAS, after a public hearing on the matter, held at a regular meeting of the Yakima City Council on April 4, 2000 the City Council finds that the plan attached hereto should be adopted as the Six Year Transportation Improvement Program for the period of 2000 through 2005 for the construction of streets and arterial streets in the City of Yakima. now. therefore. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA: The Six Year Construction Program for the period of 2000 through 2005, a copy of which is attached hereto and by this reference made a part hereof, is hereby adopted as the official Six Year Transportation Improvement Program for the city of Yakima. ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL this 4th day of April, 2000. 2005 Six Year Transportation Improvement Program. Wendell Adams,/ City Engineer / 575-6096 SUMMARY EXPLANATION: Each year the City is required by RCW 35.77.010 and RCW 36.81.121 to update its Six -Year Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) for submittal to the Washington State Department of Transportation. This plan must include all transportation projects for which state gas tax revenue or federal revenue will be used. This amendment is being made to add two new projects to the Six Year Transportation Improvement Program and to allocate already available funds to those two projects and three currently listed projects. Information for the two new projects. and the information on the proposed funding allocation was not available at the time that the original program was developed and adopted by City Council on September 7. 1999 by Resolution No. R-99-113. or for the subsequent letter revision made on February 8, 2000. The five projects have been selected for funding using Federal and State funds. The work will begin during the year 2000 construction season. They are listed and highlighted on the attached City of Yakima Six Year Transportation Improvement Program as Amended which attachment is made a part of this agenda statement.
