A RESOLUTION adopting an amended Six Year Transportation Improvement Program
for the period of 2000 through 2005 for the construction of streetsand
arterial streets in the City of Yakima.
WHEREAS, the City of Yakima annually prepares, reviews and adopts a Six Year Program
for the construction of streets and arterial streets in the City of Yakima for the ensuing six year
period, all as contemplated and required by State and Federal law; and
WHEREAS, the City of Yakima has identified a need to amend the current Six Year
Program for the construction of streets and arterial streets in the City of Yakima; and
WHEREAS, after a public hearing on the matter, held at a regular meeting of the Yakima
City Council on April 4, 2000 the City Council finds that the plan attached hereto should be adopted
as the Six Year Transportation Improvement Program for the period of 2000 through 2005 for the
construction of streets and arterial streets in the City of Yakima. now. therefore.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA:
The Six Year Construction Program for the period of 2000 through 2005, a copy of which is
attached hereto and by this reference made a part hereof, is hereby adopted as the official Six Year
Transportation Improvement Program for the city of Yakima.
ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL this 4th day of April, 2000.

SUMMARY EXPLANATION:
Each year the City is required by RCW 35.77.010 and RCW 36.81.121 to update its Six -Year Transportation
Improvement Program (TIP) for submittal to the Washington State Department of Transportation. This plan
must include all transportation projects for which state gas tax revenue or federal revenue will be used.
This amendment is being made to add two new projects to the Six Year Transportation Improvement
Program and to allocate already available funds to those two projects and three currently listed projects.
Information for the two new projects. and the information on the proposed funding allocation was not
available at the time that the original program was developed and adopted by City Council on September 7.
1999 by Resolution No. R-99-113. or for the subsequent letter revision made on February 8, 2000.
The five projects have been selected for funding using Federal and State funds. The work will begin during
the year 2000 construction season. They are listed and highlighted on the attached City of Yakima Six Year
Transportation Improvement Program as Amended which attachment is made a part of this agenda
statement.
