R-2000- 31 A RESOLUTION fixing the time and place for hearing on an amendment to the 2000 through 2005 Six Year Transportation Improvement Program. WHEREAS, the City of Yakima annually prepares, reviews and adopts a Six Year Program for the construction of streets and arterial streets in the City of Yakima for the ensuing six year period, all as contemplated and required by State and Federal law; and WHEREAS, the City of Yakima has identified a need to amend the current Six Year Program for the construction of streets and arterial streets in the City of Yakima; and WHEREAS, a public hearing must be held on said amended program before final approval, now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA: That said amended program shall be presented for hearing and determination on Tuesday, April 4, 2000, at the hour of 2:00 o'clock p.m. on said day, in the Council Chambers of the City of Yakima, at Yakima City Hall, Yakima, Washington, or as soon thereafter as the same may be heard, and that notice of such hearing be given as approved by law. Wendell Adams, City Engineer / 575-6096 SUMMARY EXPLANATION: Set the date of the public hearing to amend the 2000 - 2005 Six Year Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) for April 4, 2000. This amendment is being made to add two new projects to the Six Year Transportation Improvement Program and to allocate already available funds to those two projects and two currently listed projects. Information for the two new projects, and the information on the proposed funding allocation was not available at the time that the original program was developed and adopted by City Council on September 7, 1999 by Resolution No. R-99-113, or for the subsequent letter revision made on February 8, 2000. The four projects have been selected for funding using Federal and State funds. The work will begin during the year 2000 construction season. They are listed and highlighted on the attached City of Yakima Six Year Transportation Improvement Program as Amended which attachment is made a part of this agenda statement. A draft copy of the proposed plan is submitted for City Council review.
