WHEREAS, the City of Yakima owns personal property listed on the schedule attached hereto, for which property is surplus property, for which property should be sold in the manner most advantageous to the City, now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA: The City Manager of the City of Yakima is hereby authorized and directed to dispose of surplus personal property owned by the City listed on the schedule attached hereto by selling said property at a public auction sale at a time and place and in the manner determined by the City Manager to be most advantageous to the City; and the City Manager is further hereby authorized to hire services of an auctioneer and incur other necessary and reasonable expenses incidental to such sale, with the cost of such sale to be paid from the proceeds thereof. This is a joint City/County auction. The auction will be held on Saturday, September 25th, at Heaverlo's Auctions. Purchasing is responsible for coordination of the Surplus Property Auction. Each Division Manager determines when an item has no foreseeable use to their operating divisions. The list of items is in the process of being circulated to all divisions and any item that can be utilized will be removed from the Surplus List. Net receipts of the 1998 surplus and confiscated property auctions were $86,665.19. Expenses incurred during this year's sale are paid for from the gross proceeds. The net proceeds are deposited with the Treasurer's Office and distributed as revenue to the appropriate fund.
