AN ORDINANCE of the City of Yakima, Washington, relating to a Transportation Benefit
District; updating project costs for the transportation improvements to be
funded by the district.
WHEREAS, on January 10, 2017 the City Council created a Transportation Benefit
District (TBD); and,
WHEREAS, the City Council approved Ordinance No. 2017-002 and identified projects
within the City that constituted transportation improvement needs; and,
WHEREAS, the TBD project list has previously been updated on Ordinances 2017-011
and 2023-035; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Yakima wishes to modify and update the TBD project list; and,
WHEREAS, a public hearing must be held prior to modifying the project list; now,
therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA:
Section 1. The City Council finds it is in the public interest, following a public hearing
and using the criteria listed in RCW 36.73.020(1) and City Ordinance 2017-002, to modify the
project list and adopts the Amended Transportation Benefit District Project List (Attached as
Exhibit A) as the transportation improvements to be funded through the TBD. The amended list
replaces all prior project lists.
Section 2. This ordinance shall become effective and shall be in full force and effect
30 days after its passage and publication in accordance with law.
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL, signed and approved this 17th day of June, 2025.

AGENDA STATEMENT
SUMMARY EXPLANATION:
TBD list was presented to City Council on May 13, 2025. The list has been updated with current costs
and the scope of the projects remain as originally identified.
The City Council finds it is in the public interest, following a public hearing and using the criteria listed in
RCW 36.73.020(1) and City Ordinance 2017-002, to modify the project list and adopts the Amended
Transportation Benefit District Project List (Attached as Exhibit A) as the transportation improvements to
be funded through the TBD. The amended list replaces all prior project lists.

RECOMMENDATION: Recommend approval of the list by the passing of the Ordinance.
