HomeMy WebLinkAbout1960-178 „ ORDINANCE NO /71 AN ORDINANCE providing for the annexation by the City of Yakima, Wash- ington, of certain property contiguous to the City of Yakima, and located in the vicinity of Crescent Drive between Lincoln and Englewood. Avenues, and zoning the same as R-1 Single Family ResidencesZone, and declaring an emergency. WHEREAS, proceedings have been had in accordance with Chapter 128 of the Laws of 1945 for the annexation of the property hereinafter described v and WHEREAS, the City Council finds that such property should be annexed to the City of Yakima and further finds that the property adjoining said area to be annexed is zoned R-l Single Family Residence Zone; that the property herein annexed should be also zoned as R-1 Single Family Residence Zone; that such zoning is in accord with good 0 planning and with the comprehensive plan of the City of Yakima; that the majority of the property owners in the vicinity do not oppose the classification; that the needs of the City and community do require such zoning classification, and that the highest and best use for said property is Single Family Residence now, therefore, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA: Section 1. That the following described property contiguous to the City of Yakima, Washington to-wit: Beginning at the intersection of the centerline of Crescent Drive and the extended North line of Lot 8 of the Ontario Land Company's Subdivision; thence North along said center- line to the extended South line of the Yakima Valley Canal Company's R/W; thence Easterly and Northerly along said South line to the West line of Lot 4 of the Ontario Land Company's Subdivision; thence South along said West line to the North line of Lot 5 of the Ontario Land Company's Subdivision; thence West along the North lines of Lots 5 6 7 & 8 of the Ontario Land Company's Subdivision to the point of beginning. (Part of said parcel being a strip of land lying immediately North of Lots 5 through 8 of the Ontario Land. Company's Subdivision and known as a part of the Kern Addition Replat.) -1- be and the same is 9 hereby amnexed to the City of Yakima. 111 ection : That the above-described property is hereby zoned as R-1 Single Family Residence Zone. les:11110 That the next regularly amended Use District Map prepared by and for the City of Yakima shall show said property as R-1 Single Family Residence Zone. Section 4. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to file with the Yakima County Auditor a certified copy of this ordinance. Section 9, This ordinance is one to provide for the immediate preservation of the public peaee property 9 health and safety of the people of the City of Yakima and an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance shall be in full force and effect immediately upon its passage, approval and publication as provided by law and the City Charter.
